An International Brigades information board that was removed by Nottinghamshire County Council in 2009 is to be re-instated on Saturday 27 July between 10.30am-12noon at County Hall, Loughborough Road, Nottingham NG2 7QP.
The board was removed after the Conservatives won the 2009 county council elections. Labour regained control of the council in May this year and immediately announced that the board would be restored to its place in front of a plaque to the volunteers from Nottinghamshire that was unveiled in 1993 by Jack Jones and Spanish ambassador Alberto Aza.
There will be music and speeches at the event on 27 July. All IBMT members are invited to attend.
